      MV Nyon
History
         Built 1952 by C Van Der Giessen & Zonen Scheepswerven, Krimpen A/d Ijssel.She was powered by a 5 cylinder diesel engineThe Nyon ran aground off of St.Abs Head, Berwickshire 1958, as the above picture shows. The stern section was saved and was rebuilt. However in 1962 she sank off of Beachy Head, Sussex, following a collision with a 6.199 ton  Indian ship called the Jalazad whilst on route with her cargo of cars and steel.
 
 
Present state
           
Her bow lying to the west stands 10mtrs high but are very broken up.The bridge stands about 14 mtrs high. Beware of trawler nets
